| Vu fold doors can be used as external doors, hence taking full advantage of a view, and can work equally well as internal doors. These doors are fully reversible. The patio door has taken a step forward.
On 1st April 2002, new legislation came into effect, dictating that all replacement windows and doors installed in commercial buildings and private residences have to meet the energy saving requirements of the building regulations (Part L} This move was part of a package of measures introduced to improve energy efficiency. By incorporating low E glass into the double glaged units, which deliver optimum thermal performance, vufold achieves full art L compliance and thereby helps to reduce heating bills.
Vufold also meets the criteria laid down in order to satisfy BS6375-1:2004, a universally recognised standard, denoting the performance of windows and doors in terms of weathertightness.
To achieve the prestigious standard, the units were exposed to air permeability, water tightness tests, leak tests and wind resistance and test pressure to almost hurricane levels. |
