Pine furniture: Tears of "miracle" tree

Hundreds of people are flocking to a "miracle" tree in West Bengal.
As reported by Monstersandcritics.com, a peepal tree on the fringes of Kolkata has been causing a stir by 'crying water' for several days.
The phenomenon began after branches of the tree were lopped off by the Behala flying club, to improve visibility.
Locals have been queuing up to drink the water coming from the tree, believing it to have healing properties.
However, Satyajit Chakraborty, general secretary of Paschimbanga Vigyan Mancha, a rationalist association, said: "There is no miracle attached to it. It is a clear case of perspiration.
"As the tree is shorn of leaves, it has caused the branches to perspire. Trees draw water through its roots and when big trees like peepal and banyan are cut, water sometimes oozes out."
He continued: "We have called a meeting of botanists and scientists to explain the phenomenon to the people."
