Mobile phone tower covets pine foliage

A 100 foot tower providing signal for mobile phones may be disguised as a pine tree.
The US telecommunications giant Verizon is currently negotiating with the owner of The Greenbrier resort, near White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where the mast will be built.
If the plans go ahead the phone tower would be camouflaged using a textured material designed to resemble the bark of a pine tree, Verizon Spokesperson John Johnson said according to the Charleston Daily Mail.
Branches would then be attached to the main pole of the mast using invisible wire and used to hide the antennas.
Although the branches would be derived from actual pine trees, the pine needles themselves would be made of vinyl or plastic.
Mr Johnson admitted to the Charleston Daily Mail that he did have one concern about the plan, however.
"They look so realistic that squirrels keep chewing the needles off the branches," he said.
